This Day in Tech History – Death of Netscape

November 24

Back in 1998 there was an act so vile and so troublesome that it still gets me a little worked up.  Since the very beginning of my online life I have sided with the alternative Browser and only used Internet Explorer when forced to (usually at work because of compatibility issues) but on this day in Tech History my first Internet Browser was taken over by AOL, yes it was this day that AOL the discount Internet Service Provider bought out Netscape and forever changed the face of the internet…and the untimely death of Netscape as anything other than a placeholder site for cheap dial up internet services.
