Good News…I didn't melt yesterday!

As the mercury rose to a new record 36.4 C (97.2 F) and the heat index pushed that the way that temperature felt to above 40 C…I need to buy a t-shirt that says “I survived Heat-agedon!”  I can honestly say that for my colleagues in the Toronto office of where I work…I feel sorry for your commute home as the Heat index pushed the thermometer up to 51 C (123 F).

The good news is…while the weekend will remain hot…it is gonna be much more seasonal!  Records were set across my beautiful province and the results from Environment Canada show 19 reporting cities experienced new Records in Ontario.

Things are looking up though as life begins to return to normal but I thought I would take the time to look to some Summer Time Gadgets:

Digital Camera Swim Mask

This is the worlds only swim mask that has an integrated waterproof digital camera, eliminating the need to carry an underwater camera, keeping your hands free as you swim. The 5 MP camera can operate to a depth of 15′, making it ideal for use when snorkeling or in swimming pools.

LED Solar Lightcap For Water Bottles
Turn your water bottle into a solar-powered lantern with this waterproof cap. Just fill the bottle with water and screw on this cap to create a lantern that will illuminate your campsite, tent or home. An embedded solar panel charges a long-lasting NiMH battery to power four bright LEDs- simply leave it out in the sun for a few hours and you’ll have up to 12 hours of light.

Sea Scooter XL

Sharper Image offers almost the exact same means of conveyance with the Seascooter XL Personal Water Propeller!  This cherry red handheld motor allows you to travel at two miles per hour and go as deep as fifteen feet. Granted, there are no spear guns attached, but with a little ingenuity, I’m sure you could make that modification yourself

Motorized Bumper Boat
Bumper cars? On the water? Has the world gone absolutely mad? The answer to all three of these questions is yes. Hammacher Schlemmer’s inflatable Bumper Boat allows you the ability to ram into people at a comfortable three miles per hour. What could give you more personal enjoyment than knowing you can have fun at other people’s expense with a pool toy.

Power Mister Personal Fan
If you have to go outside in the summer, it’s best to do so in an air conditioned vehicle. Sometimes though, the fates can be cruel and that is just not an option, which is why it’s a good thing we have the Power Mister Personal Fan. This little guy not only acts as a mini fan (if you couldn’t figure that out) but also shoots a timed spray of water, creating a fine, cooling mist, making your sweltering environment far more bearable.

You may be noticing that there is a bit of a theme here that there are several references to pool fun and outdoor enjoyment…this is likely going to be the perfect weekend to break out the camping gear and get as close to a beach as possible!

But better than anything…its Friday and that means a short day at work and more time with the family!

Talk to you all soon and have a great day!

  1. Generally speaking I don’t sit around and read blogs as a pastime hobby, but I was really intrigued and pulled into this one. Where did you originally find the inspiration to develop and create your first one? Did you have any experience with content creation or development prior or is this something that you learned as you went along? Sorry for all the questions, I am just genuinely interested… Thanks!

  2. Great read… thanks for actually being able to use proper English and grammar in the write-up. Lately I have been reading through tons of different blogs on the topic and it just seems that so many people out there really aren’t reading enough because it seems that their lexicon and grammar are completely underdeveloped. In any case, sorry for the rant but definitely wanted to say job well done! Will be back to read up more…

  3. Thanks for the visit Rosendo. Hope to see you back soon…and I do try to keep true to proper English and not the “slang” and “dumbed down version that the Internet has created.

  4. Thanks for the visit Lael. No I did not really have any content experience, I have been messing around with Web Design since the early 90’s but never anything like this. My job has me talking to clients about many of the topics you will read about on the site so I rarely run out of topics to dive into.
