I'm Back, Refreshed, Recharged and Ready to Conquor the World

So some of you may have been wondering where I have been for the past 7+ days and the answer is…in Paradise.  Arguably I work for the best company in the world and as a reward for Top performers in the company (in Sales, IT, Operations and Support) our CEO takes us on an annual Trip called the President’s Club.  In my 3 years at the company I have been honored with two such trips, in 2009 to Costa Rica and this year aboard the Norwegian Cruise Line Epic.

There were some hiccups and some general frustrations through out the week but overall the stops at St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Bahamas more than made up for any on ship blunders that may have happened.

Much of my time was spent relaxing and reading a plethora of materials that will give me inspiration and topics to discuss right here as well as gain a true center when it comes to my home / work balance.  What I was not prepared for was the more than 1400 emails (not counting the 4000 Spam messages) that I received.  You see I made a conscious decision to be completely disconnected for the week and did not even attempt to check my email or get online for entire time I was gone (well that is not completely true, the second that I got into Miami Airport I started to Jones in a big way so we broke down and went to the Internet Cafe).

Was it worth the time away from work…not sure yet but I definitely needed the down time, I only wish that it was longer and I had more than 6-8 hours at each port but that is the way of a Cruise Traveler…the research begins on how much it will cost to head back down…I rather enjoyed the down time…and even the jewelry shopping with my wife.

Cheers to all of you and I will make up for the missing posts in the coming weeks.
