This Day in Tech History – Xbox 360 and Toy Story

November 22

Back in 1995, the first completely computer generated movie was released in theatres.  Toy Story was ground breaking in many ways but most notable for me was the fact that it created a whole new world animation that had never existed before.  To think back to that time and the computers that were available then…it still blows my mind!  The famous words of Buzz Lightyear still ring true today…”To Infinity and Beyond!”

Also on this day:

Microsoft releases the Xbox 360 in 2005.  The gaming console becomes an almost instant hit and while I only recently got back into console gaming (with a PlayStation 3) the now gaming giant has had a very successful run with the Xbox format.  The 78 million units that have sold since its release place it in 3rd place between the Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360…I was surprised to learn the truth about gaming in a recently released fact book on the Gaming Industry titled: Essential Facts About the Computer and Video Game Industry.
